Abstract

AbstractThe population density function of seed crystals, well defined at the beginning of batch crystallization experiments undergoes a strong deformation in the course of the process. A mathematical model, developed on the base of the generally accepted equations of the kinetics of crystallization and the population balance as a function of the crystal size and the process time is not suitable to describe such a behaviour.
