Abstract

Objective To explore the status quo of sense of coherence among nursing students and its influencing factors, so as to provide basis for formulating targeted interventions. Methods A total of 143 nursing students in a ClassⅢ Grade A hospital in Harbin from January to October 2017 were recruited by convenience sampling method. The Sense of Coherence-13 (SOC-13) and Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) were used to investigate the nursing students. Results The score of SOC-13 was (54.12±10.63) , and the score of SAS was (44.23±7.83) . There was a negative correlation between SOC-13 and SAS (r=-0.519, P<0.05) . The SOC-13 scores of nursing students with different educational level, living condition, internship time, monthly working time and relationship with their classmates were different, and the differences were statistically significant (t/F=6.421, 2.810, 3.611, 4.932, 3.950; P<0.05) . Conclusions There is a low level of sense of coherence in nursing students and is influenced by multiple factors. Supervisors should pay attention to this situation and take effective measures to intervene in order to improve the level of psychological coherence of nursing students. Key words: Students, nursing; Clinical clerkship; Anxiety; Sense of coherence
