Abstract

Alden J. D. and Saha S. K. (1978) An analysis of second jobholding in the EEC, Reg. Studies 12, 639–650. The article examines the nature and extent of double jobholding in EEC countries drawing upon the results of the new 1975 EEC labour-force sample survey. An assessment is made of the extent of spatial differentials in the EEC. A regional analysis is made of variations in double jobholding in the EEC in terms of industrial structure of both first and second jobs, primary and secondary labour activity rates, unemployment, rates of economic growth and hours of work. The article concludes with an assessment of double jobholding and further use of new EEC labourforce data.
