Abstract
AVERAGE AND ABOVE average adult readers were visually presented sets of unrelated letters for brief durations under complete report and partial report conditions. The results showed that the highly skilled readers were superior in their performance on the complete report and the partial report delay-of-mask task. Complete report performance was facilitated by the inclusion of vowels in the letter strings, but the inclusion of vowels failed to interact with reading ability.
