Abstract
The π+-13C elastic scattering at 162 MeV and 13C(π+,π0)13N at 165 MeV are analyzed in a model in which the nuclear state is assumed to consist of a valence nucleon and a 12C core described by a three α-cluster wavefunction and the cross section is calculated in the Glauber theory. A good agreement between theory and experiment is obtained and the results also indicate the important influence of the core on the processes.
