Abstract

Virtual cultivated land refers to the quantity of cultivated land resources needed during the production of goods or service. This paper chose four kinds of grain products i.e. rice, maize, wheat and soybean, and calculated their trade volume of virtual cultivated land in China from 1978 to 2007. What's more, it established regression model to analyze influencing factors of virtual cultivated land trade in grain trade in China. Results showed that net-import of virtual cultivated land in China is negatively related to unit yield of grain and cultivated land protection policy, and positively related to GDP per capita and population growth rate.
