Abstract

The dynamic Jahn-Teller model for the Ni3+:Al2O3 system is applied to new EPR results with and without uniaxial stress. The experimental EPR data are fitted to an effective electronic Hamiltonian with C3v symmetry, and accurate values for four of the magnetic-field-dependent parameters are obtained by a least-squares fitting procedure. A detailed discussion of the effects of uniaxial stress is also given.
