Abstract

Gas network system is an important medium of gas transmission; it develops quickly and has the large scale. The pipeline is an important part of the gas network system, and its local failure may lead to the short or stop of gas supply of large-scale network system. In order to explore the fault propagation rule and its influence on the gas network system, fault models are established according to different failure modes and then the influence of the upstream pipeline and the downstream pipeline by the failure point is analyzed from the partial perspective. And a new fault propagation simulation method of the pipeline is proposed from the whole perspective to explore the failure effect of connected pipeline and the entire gas network system. The combination of local and global analytical methods provides a new method for the pipeline fault propagation in the network system.
