An amended version of simple “helicoidal” models for DNA dynamics

Abstract

It is pointed out that in recently proposed “helicoidal” models of DNA dynamics is present an inconsistency between the helical geometry, the choice of sign in the helicoidal terms and the coordinate choice. We give here an amended discussion of the dispersion relations and other issues in “helicoidal” Yakushevich and Peyrard-Bishop models, pointing out the differences with respect to previous results.
