Abstract

This letter describes the design of a system intended to directly supply electrical energy from alternate current transmission lines by means of magnetic coupling. The system's physical configuration and electromagnetic parameters were derived from the formulation developed for the corresponding model. Computational programs were implemented in order to simulate the system operational behavior concerning two parameters: induced voltage and maximum value for the power that could be delivered by the line. The viability of such a proposition was experimentally verified by means of a reduced scale model and the referred two parameters were preliminarily evaluated.
