Abstract
For isotropic elastic perfectly-plastic materials, Hutchinson [1] has studied a static plane-stress crack of mode I, and static plane-strain cracks of modes I and II. Later, Shih [2] analyzed the static plane-strain crack of mode I-II, and the solution is in the form of Prandtl slip-line field while it is an extreme case of the corresponding solution for power-law hardening materials. Nemat-Nasser and Obata [3] examined and compared several of these solutions.
