Abstract

A different process for maximizing profit in an unbalanced transportation problem in a fuzzy set theory is proposed. It is assumed that all of the decision variables are triangular fuzzy numbers. The optimal solution is determined without transforming into its crisp corresponding form and by applying an effective arithmetic operation and ranking function. To demonstrate the proposed procedure, a numerical example is given.
