A maximum pulse energy of 1.07 mJ at 1177.8 nm was obtained with the absorbed LD pump energy of 10.63 mJ, giving an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 10% and a slope efficiency of 13.8%. The pulse output characteristic of the Raman laser was analyzed in detail.
