Abstract

An all optical header separation structure and scheme based-on SOA and improved delay interferometer were presented in the paper. The parameters of improved SOA-delay interferometer are discussed and analyzed to optimize the performance of optical header separation with the proposed scheme. Numerical analysis and simulation show that more than 15 dB contrast ratio of the header separation is achieved when the rates of header and payload are 2.5 Gbit/s and 40 Gbit/s respectively. In addition, the system is simple structure, highly scalable and photonic integration.
