Abstract

AbstractIn this communication, a numerical technique for electrohydrodynamic rigid particulate flows is presented. The proposed algorithm takes advantage of a specialized rigid particle formulation, thus enabling an efficient computational approach. The approach is tested for all the basic dielectrophoretic behaviors expected in DC and AC fields. This tool has potential use in several micro‐ and nano‐scale fabrication processes that rely on electrohydrodynamic self‐assembly of particles. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
