Abstract
An ill-posed problem of extending a generalized axisymmetric potential from the axis of symmetry is considered. A conditionally correct formulation of the problem and a stability estimate on a compact set of correctness are given. An algorithm for numerical approximation, which in the uniform metric conditionally approximates the solutions belonging to the compact set is constructed.
