Abstract

This paper derives an algorithm for computing rectangular multinomial probabilities. It thus provides a method for exact computation of the multinomial cumulative distribution function. One application of rectangular multinomial probabilities comes in determining how large a sample must be in order to have a high probability of being representative in a certain nonparametric sense.
