Abstract

AbstractIn this study, we synthesized a novel binuclear Pt(II) derivative with aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) property (DPT) through a straightforward route. The IC50 of DPT in the Hela cell line was calculated to be 44.3±1.4 μM. Experimental data showed DPT could induce a decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and an increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS). Necrosis was observed in DPT‐treated Hela cells. In addition to the cytotoxicity, DPT also displayed mitochondrial imaging capability. Thus, this complex might potentially serve as a theragnostic reagent.
