Abstract

This paper will address the conception of an Adaptive Fuzzy Backstepping (AFB) controller for induction machine under amplitude and rate saturation. The need to exploit the field oriented control scheme and to use only one control channel leads to adopt the backstepping. Thus, the true and virtual control signals have been synthesized, using two adaptive fuzzy systems, to overcome the constraint on the well knowledge of the machine parameters. To economize energy and reduce the over voltage, amplitude and rate saturation constraints will be introduced in our control law. The used adaptive fuzzy systems will be adjusted on-line according to some adaptation laws deduced from the stability analysis in the sense of Lyapunov. Simulation results and comparison to the system without rate and amplitude saturation constraints are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
