Abstract

SummaryThe embryo sac in Dicraea is tetra‐nucleate and follows a bisporic development. It comprises a single synergid, an egg cell and two juxtaposed antipodal cells. This justifies the establishment of a new type under the bisporic embryo sacs which may be designated as the Dicraea type.
