Abstract

The supply system impedances seen at a load bus is an important parameter for power system planning and operations. An existing method to measure the system impedance is to utilize the natural fluctuation of the load in the downstream. However, its performance may not be satisfactory when the system side has certain variations. To address this issue, this letter proposes an adaptive threshold to improve the accuracy of system impedance estimation. The performance of the proposed method has been verified using simulation studies and field data.
