Abstract

The time delay estimation of the signals received from two sensors which are separated in space is a basic problem in many technical fields. In the real-time accurate delay estimation system, the traditional least mean square time delay estimation (LMSTDE) algorithm can not meet the needs of high speed real-time processing. This paper proposes a method to use time delay correction technique for the accurate estimation of time delay. The method resamples the high speed data at the rate of 1/N after these data have been delayed. Thus the data rate of the input of LMSTDE estimator gets well decreased and the time delay estimation accuracy gets well improved.
