Abstract

A serious disadvantage of all methods of determining dose distributions in moving-beam teletherapy is the difficulty of estimating the accuracy for individual treatments. In this note details are given of a relatively simple system by which it is possible to reconstruct, to a high degree of accuracy, the section of the patient in the region of the plane of rotation, including the part of the treatment table involved. The system was designed primarily as a means to check the reliability of a new, generalised calculation method, details of which will be described separately.
