Abstract

In this paper, the propagation of several high-power electromagnetic (HPEM) environments are simulated in free space through finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) methods based on face-centered cubic (FCC) grids. Three typical HPEM environments including ultra wide band (UWB), high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) and high-power microwave (HP-M), are analyzed. Comparing the calculated results of the FCC-FDTD method with the analytical results, or with the FDTD methods with smaller grid in three numerical examples, the FCC-FDTD method is proved to be an effective and stability method to simulate HPEM environments.
