Abstract

Set against the backdrop of the most lethal of all pandemics in a century, this paper presents an account of a sudden and precipitous fall into a health and economic crisis which eventually turned into an intense humanitarian crisis. While it briefly recounts the much-discussed short-run impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic namely hunger, suffering, ailments, joblessness, etc., it argues that some of the less obvious knockon effects will continue to hamper humanity for a long time. The world would never be the same again, and there is no option but to live with the virus. Now, when it seems that economies have started shrugging off the pain of Covid-19, it is obligatory for all to find ways to circumvent multidimensional sequels of the devastating reality.
