Abstract

ABSTRACT A temperature correction for the Corliss and Bozman arc has been determined from a comparison of their oscillator strengths for Fe I with recent laboratory measurements and the resulting excitation-dependent adjustment applied to the oscillator strengths of 58 lines of Zr ii and two of Sr I. The absolute scales of these oscillator strengths are then established by line strengths in the solar spectrum assuming the solar abundances of these elements to be those of the chondritic meteorites. Key words: oscillator strengths - zirconium - solar abundances
