Abstract

A simple continuous flow calorimeter is described for the measurement of absolute laser powers above 5W. The laser radiation is absorbed directly in a vertical, flowing, thick film of the calorimeter liquid. No intermediate surfaces are involved and the absorbing surface of the device cannot be damaged by exposure to high energy densities.
