Abstract

The authors exhibit a new solution of the anisotropic triangular Ising model. It is based on diagrammatics well suited to the study of the vicinity of the so-called disorder varieties. A systematic expansion in this vicinity reveals an unexpected alpha =1/2 singularity. This hidden singularity is, in turn, interpreted as the genuine critical behaviour of a related random walk process.
