Abstract
A new type of polarisation test for direct-channel resonances is applied to pp elastic scattering to give a new definition of and search for the dibaryon resonance. The evidence is negative for a resonance in any singlet partial wave, but is tantalisingly subliminal for a 3F3 resonance.
