Abstract

In a recent letter [Scully et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 60 (1988) 1832] a two-photon correlated-spontaneous-emission laser is shown to be able to generate light exhibiting phase squeezing. We further show here that such a two-photon laser can produce an intracavity field which is near-perfectly squeezed in the amplitude quadrature and exhibits sub-poissonian photon statistics. The spectrum of squeezing is also discussed.
