Abstract

In this paper we study the possible effect of fluid flow amplification of the magnetic field. We have found that in the domain of supper conducting MHD the magnetic field is stretched, amplified and advected with the fluid. The magnetic field import elasticity to the conducting fluid and the fluid translates that as amplification to the magnetic field. The famous MHD dynamo, where the fluid flow leads to sustained amplification of the magnetic field, but the flow must be 3D. Magnetic fields of planets, stars, galaxies, etc. are all believed to owe their origin and persistence to this effect.
