Abstract

A peroxo polyoxometalate-based catalyst was synthesized, characterized, and employed as a catalyst in the epoxidation of olefins with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). During the reaction, the insoluble catalyst became soluble and an emulsion formed to promote the epoxidation process. Then the emulsion broke and the catalyst precipitated for reuse easily.
