Abstract
An amperometric method for the determination of superoxide dismutase activity is reported. Superoxide is produced by the enzymatic reaction of xanthine oxidase and detected at a poised potential of 0.000 V vs. SCE using a glassy carbon electrode. Limits of detection are 8 × 10 −11 M at pH 7.0 and 2 × 10 −12 M at pH 9.0.
