Abstract

Recently, one species of the genus Argulus is propagating in the salmonoid fishcul-ture ponds of every locality of Japan. The author studied the scientific characters of this species by using the many specimens which were collected from Salvelinus fontinalis, Salmo irideus and Plecoglossus altivelis at the fishcoulture ponds in Tokyo, Nagano and he recognized that they are well agreement with the description of A. coregond Thorell, 1865 by Tokioka (1936) and also that of A. plecoglossi Yamaguti, 1937 by Yamaguchi (1937). But the writer identified them with A. coregoni Thorell, because the identifica-tion seems to be very reasonable. The characters of those specimens are figured in the Figs. 1-3.
