Abstract

Sixth Dalai Lama-Tsangyang Gyatso is a full-length novel written by Gao Ping that vividly describes the short life of the great Tibetan poet and Sixth Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, and his poems. It sets against the political, military and religious background of Tibetan during the Qing Dynasty. This paper briefly analyses Tsangyang Gyatso’s love poems based on his love stories. The study finds that the words used in Tsangyang Gyatso’s love poems are plain, simple, natural and easy to understand, which has a highly empathetic effect to his readers and expresses the poet’s sincere feelings.
