Abstract
1. 1. To characterize AMP deaminase activity in rabbit red and white muscles and heart, phosphocellulose column chromatography was carried out. 2. 2. White muscle and heart showed a single activity peak, but their elution positions were different. 3. 3. Red muscle showed two peaks of enzyme activity (Red-I and Red-II). 4. 4. Chromatographic, electrophoretic, immunological and kinetic studies showed that Red-I is identical to the isozyme in heart and Red-II identical to the isozyme in white muscle.
