Abstract

Composite materials consisting of Ammonium Polyphosphate (APP), SiO2 and TiO2 were prepared and embedded in a polymer matrix to obtain proton conductive membranes. The membranes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and impedance techniques. First results show that the conductivity increases with the amount of APP composite material inside the membrane, while the mechanical properties are dominated by the matrix material. Membranes with a large portion of APP composites show the same conductivity as bulk APP composite material.
