Abstract
AbstractThe objective of this research was to measure NH3 gas evolved from soils that have recently been broken from the native sod condition. Methodology for measuring NH3 losses under simulated natural environments is presented. Two moisture levels, field capacity, and wilting point were studied. It was concluded that NH3 volatilization was not a significant loss mechanism in the first 160 days after cultivation began.
