Abstract
The title compound {amminemercury(II) trioxoselenate(IV), [HgNH3SeO3} has a structure comprising of corrugated edge-sharing chains of HgNO5 octahedra and SeO3 pyramids. The chains are apparently held in position by hydrogen bonds. The octahedra are 2 + 4 distorted. The selenite group exhibits one significantly differing Se—O bond length involving an O atom coordinated to three HgII ions.
