Abstract
Reactions of metal carbonyls M(CO) 6 (M = Cr, Mo, W), CH 3C 5H 4Mn(CO) 3 and Mn 2(CO) 10 with amine oxides R 3NO (R = CH 3, C 2H 5) in the presence of ligands L′ lead to substituted carbonyls L′M(CO) m−n L n , n = 1, 2. Yields are dependent on the reactivity of the metal carbonyl towards nucleophiles and the donor-acceptor properties of the ligand L. Mn 2(CO) 10 in the presence of pyridine gives Mn 2(CO) 9py in high yield.
