Abstract

Abstract L-lysine and L-glutamic acid can be made to coordinate as tridentate ligands with meridional geometry in octahedral mixed ligand complexes where the other ligand is tridentate and has a preference for meridional coordination. Both [Cr(dpt)(L-lys)]2+ (Hlys = lysine, dpt = di(3-aminopropyl)amine) and [Cr(glygly)(L-glu)]− (H 2 glygly = glycylglycine, H 2 glu = glutamic acid) exhibit meridional geometry.
