Abstract
The reaction of dinitrogen with diaryltitanocenes, Cp 2TiAr 2 (Ar = C 6H 5, p-, m- and o-CH 3C 6H 4), has been studied. The heating of Cp 2TiPh 2 with N 2 results in aniline formation. Under similar conditions ditolyltitanocenes yield mixtures of isomeric toluidines. The mechanism of the amine formation is discussed.
