AbstractWater Utilities (MIC: SIC: 4941 NAIC: 221310)American States Water is the parent company of Golden State Water Company (GSWC), American States Utility Services, Inc. (ASUS), and Chaparral City Water Company (CCWC). GSWC is a public utility engaged in the purchase, production and distribution of water in California, which served about 254,546 water customers as of Dec 31 2007. GSWC also distributes electricity in one customer service area, which served around 23,273 electric customers at Dec 31 2007. CCWC is a public utility, which served approximately 13,488 customers in the town of Fountain Hills, AZ and a portion of the City of Scottsdale, AZ, at Dec 31 2007. ASUS provides water and wastewater services on a contract basis.
