Abstract

The American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists (ASDA) is proud to announce its 2009–2010 Board of Directors.As 2009 unfolds, ASDA is embarking on several exciting new initiatives targeted towards improving access to care for dental patients and their dentists. Among these initiatives is working closely with the American Dental Association (ADA) to ensure that pain, fear and anxiety is included in the ADA's list of Barriers to Access to Care.“I am honored to be surrounded by dedicated professionals who have worked diligently to ensure dental patients have access to dental care,” stated ASDA President Christine Quinn, MS, DDS. “Given the wide spectrum of choices offered by modern dentistry, no one should be subjected to unwanted psychological duress or uncontrolled pain for dental services.”The ASDA 2009–2010 Board of Directors is:PresidentChristine Quinn, DDS, MSPresident-ElectMichael Mashni, DDSVice PresidentMark Saxen, DDS, PhDSecretarySteve A. Uncooperative and precooperative children and those with special needs have been able to safely and humanely receive comprehensive dental care in their own dentist's office for many years with the services provided by dentist anesthesiologists.
