Abstract

The ambident nucleophile diisopropylphosphorothioate, (Me 2CHO) 2POS − reacts with halides of silicon, germanium and tin to yield O-bonded derivatives (Me 2CHO) 2P(S)OMR 3 (M = Si, Ge, Sn; R = Me, Ph). These findings are discussed in terms of the energetics of the isomerisation: (Me 2CHO) 2P(S)OMR 3 → (Me 2CHO) 2P(O)SMR 3.
