Abstract

Abstract The syndromes of male and female hermaphroditism (intersex) and related psychohormonal and/or cytogenetic syndromes have provided hormonal data for a review of the determination of amative orientation as homosexual, bisexual, or heterosexual. The outcome of this review is that the hormonal hypothesis is neither confirmed nor disconfirmed. Putatively, there is another, perhaps hormonally contingent, factor that may eventually be identified. From conception onward, the underlying principle of sex dualism is Eve first, then Adam.
