Abstract

The activation energies of addition to ethene increase in the sequence of CH3\, C2H5\, 2-C3H7\, CH2=CHĊH2 andtert-C4H9 radicals. The calculations support the correlation between ΔHA≠ and ΔrHO and the Hammond postulate in alkyl and allyl radical additions and in the β-bond scissions of the radicals studied.
