Abstract
Based on similarity in shell morphology, it is proposed that Alvania pluricosticillata Chirli & Forli, 2021 (fossil, recently described from the Plio-Pleistocene of Tuscany and Calabria) and Crisilla gagliniae (Amati, 1985) (extant, originally described from eastern Sicily) actually represent a single species. By priority, Crisilla gagliniae is the name to use for this species.
