Abstract

Aluminium phosphide is a solid fumigant pesticide, insecticide and rodenticide. Aluminium phosphide is used as a poison either by inhalation or ingestion. Poisoning is usually suicidal, occasionally accidental and rarely homicidal. It is commonly known as an agent of sure death in the medical profession. A case of poisoning was brought by the police for postmortem examination. Postmortem findings, chemical analysis report and recovery of empty Quickphos container at the scene of death by police, confirmed it to be a case of aluminium phosphide poisoning. Language: en
