Abstract
Abstract It is shown that the theory of self-coupled scalar field may be expressed in terms of a class of integral equations which include the Yang-Feldman equation as a particular case. Other integral equations in this class could be used to generate alternative perturbation expansions which contain a nonanalytic dependence upon constant and are less ultraviolet divergent than the conventional perturbation expansion.
